At its heart, fashion is trend-setting and thought provoking. With Red Carpet Green Dress we want to set the right trends and to provoke the right thoughts. We can use fashion to create sustainability through the way we design, what we make, what we throw away and how we reuse things. We believe that you are either part of the problem or part of the solution and right now fashion is at a sustainable threshold; the fashion industry’s processes need to be addressed for rearrangement. Red Carpet Green Dress is about being part of the solution; it is about more than just a pretty dress. By bringing attention to the beauty and practicality of sustainable design, more people will consider sustainable alternatives and practices in their own lives and, ultimately, become part of the solution. Action begins with awareness.
Red Carpet Green Dress was launched for a dual purpose. To highlight the importance of sustainable fashion, and to fundraise for MUSE Global and MUSE School Ca. Entrants are asked to pay $50 to submit a sketch with funds raised going towards the MUSE School CA and the MUSE Global.
About MUSE School CA
MUSE School CA, Inspiring and preparing young people to live consciously with themselves one another and the planet. The school was founded by Suzy Amis Cameron and her sister Rebecca Amis. A non-profit, educational organization in Malibu Canyon, California, is dedicated to empowering children to realize the full potential of their lives through academic excellence, personal responsibility, compassionate relations, global consciousness and environmental awareness. On a 22-acre campus in Malibu Canyon, California, children from across the socio-economic spectrum are stimulated and empowered with experience-based learning. Bodies are nurtured with fresh organic foods and an honor for all living things, including the planet, is cultivated daily. The MUSE School CA Scholarship Fund enables us to provide financial aid to nearly 50% of our families.
About MUSE Global
The MUSE Global Network comprises three types of school:
MUSE Schools are being modeled on the same design, ideals and principles that we used to form MUSE CA.
MUSE Inspired Schools share many, if not all, of the principles that guide a MUSE School. The Good Morning School in Mae Sot Thailand is a great example of a MUSE Inspired School. The Good Morning School educates the children of migrant workers who have escaped genocide in Burma (Myanmar) and Mana Tamariki in New Zealand.
MUSE Sister Schools are already-established organizations with whom we exchange ideas and ideals regarding professional development, curriculum and program design.
