How much does it cost to enter the contest?

The cost to enter the Contest is Fifty United States dollars (USD$50), per entry with up to 5 designs entered per entry.

How many dresses can I enter into the contest?

You can enter as many times as you like. However with the entry form, you can upload one (1) design per entry with up to five (5) sketches of the SAME design. To submit further designs, you must submit a new entry form with payment for the new form.

Can I use any fabric/material for the dress I use for entry into the contest?

No. The dress or gown MUST be made ONLY from sustainable fabric/material, such as natural, organic or recycled fabric/material and this must be explained in the text you submit alongside your sketch. Remember – you will not be making the dress at the entry stage – but we would like to know which fabrics you would use if you win the contest and why. The use of notions such as buttons, crystals, beads, sequin, etc. is allowed in the design of the garment. However, the focus should be on using recyclable, natural, organic, sustainable notions, wherever possible. Your notes should clearly highlight these particular items and what they are made of. Please see here for information about the fabric you can use to create your design.

Do I have to make the dress?

You will not be making the dress on your own, you will be working with an established designer to make the dress to ensure that the dress can be made to red carpet standard.

How many sketches/drawings can I include with each entry?

A maximum of five (5) sketches and/or drawings (including any notes) per dress entry.

Should I include any notes on the sketches and drawing I am submitting?

Yes. In your entry you should provide us with full details (as notes) regarding anything in your design, sketches or drawings. The more detail you provide on the type/colors/texture/design etc helps assist the judge in making her decision as to which entry will be the winning entry. Remember, a maximum of 5 drawings or sketches (including any notes) may be submitted per dress entry.

How do I submit my entry?

Submit your entry to us, with any sketches/drawings/notes as a JPEG or PNG file. The file size must not exceed 800KB (Kilobytes)

What if my design exceeds the size limit?

To decrease the size of your entry, please zip your submission. If your file still exceeds the size limit, please send us an email with your contact information.

I get to the upload page and get a spinning upload icon, what do I do?

There is a known issue with the Opera Browser and Macintosh OSX that causes the page to act as if it has not uploaded your file, when in actuality, it has. Click on the “Can’t find your answer here?” link, below, and ask us to confirm your submission. Customer service will check it out and let you know.

How will I know if you have received my entry?

You will receive an automatic confirmation response to the email address from which you submitted your eligible entry to the Contest.

How many winners will there be?
